Mosaics

Mosaic gives Jo the chance to indulge her more conceptual side, exploring ideas such as rebirth, value and communication. Jo’s mosaics combine reclaimed materials with the hand-made and new, and often incorporate semi-precious stones.

‘Which do you think have the highest worth?’ Jo asks, ‘I want to question notions of preciousness, and encourage people to look at use and re-use’.

Jo’s most recent mosaics use discarded skateboards as their base, and on their reverse still maintain their stickers, scrapes and scars.

Jo also makes mosaic for commission and exhibition, as well as teaching both adults and children.
