Bright matter Female Cosmology Paintings
The ‘Female Cosmology’ series explores my experience of re-centring the divine as feminine. They are conceived as a kind of map, with each symbol having a meaning that the viewer can use to create their own narrative.
Bright Matter paintings are unapologetic, taking up their own space in the world, glorying in both their magic and physicality.
I create work in layers to build up surfaces that are rich and varied, with iridescent paint, collaged tissue paper and glitter that have their own physical presence.
They are intended to be experienced bodily, as living objects, changing with the light and movement around the room.
