Beautiful on the inside:
These paintings are internal self portraits, exploring parts of myself that I have been taught are unacceptable, wrong or even frightening.
They are love poems to myself. I believe the physical is sacred, and part of my mission is to re-consecrate the profane, starting with my own inner world.
I create work in layers to build up surfaces that are rich and varied, with layers of iridescent paint, collaged tissue paper and glitter that gives them a sense of life and means they change with the light and where we view them from.
Female Cosmology:
This series explores my experience of re-centring the divine as feminine, and celebrating erotic energy. Who made the world and how? They are conceived as a kind of map, encoded with knowledge and a way to find hidden treasure. Each symbol having a meaning that the viewer can use to create their own narrative.
Money Spells
I painted these as a spells. I asked myself what would money be like if it was pleasurable and generative? If it was a force for joy?
They aim to alter our relationship with money to one of trust and enjoyment.
