Inner Space Outer Space
“I used to think if I just listened hard enough I could understand the language of the trees, the birds, the waves.”
This series of paintings draws parallels between our own bodies and that of the ecosystems of the Earth and the Cosmos. The surfaces are rich and textured, designed to hold the gaze for a long time, allowing mind and body to settle. There is a curiosity about where we end and the rest of Nature begins. Is all knowledge available to us if we just listen in the right way? If you go all the way in or all the way out you will get to the same place.

The best description of this painting was by Mum’s friend Rosemarie, who also had dementia.
The moon appears to glow as you change position and the surface is crusted with beads that glitter as the light plays across it.
