Art Cauldrons

“I was looking for a way to incorporate ceremony and ritual into my practices and wanted to alter the way a group project could work. What would a female-centric container look like? The themes were chosen to give space and time for depth and exploration, and I wanted participants to be able to focus on their own desires and what it felt like to receive.”

An experimental series of art projects that sits somewhere between membership, commission and magical ceremony.

Each cauldron explores a different theme. They run for nine or twelve months, culminating with a finished artwork for each participant. The images below show the finished work from the completed cauldrons.

They are devised as a two way project, including monthly email updates on the progress of the art, a dedicated altar to anchor the energy of the cauldron, meditations, ceremonies and the opportunity to contribute desires or prayers. To date, Jo has completed eight cauldrons.

Places are limited and the next available cauldron is called Belonging, starting at the Autumn Equinox and running for a full year.
